chucks
sooner or later you’re gonna be the last thing on my mind
Sooner or later
I’ll be free to leave the past behind
- “Sooner or Later”, The Alan Parsons Project
This be my prom dress from my high school senior year. For both of my proms, I was part of the Cotillion dancers, so we were required to wear pink (for the juniors) and blue (for the seniors). But I think I still would have worn blue, even if I had the choice to wear another color. Haha!
I wanted a simple, rather conservative gown—I think you guys already know that I don’t like exposing…skin—and, as mentioned, I was required to wear blue, so we had this made. It had sequins lining the neckline and around the waist area. A couple of layers of chiffon underneath the skirt. And the outer material was tule, I believe… And it was so…flowy. I loved it.
I so SO love this dress that until now I still have trouble letting it go. I’ve had it in my closet for years now, and I’ve even lent it out to one or two younger cousins. It still fits me, oddly enough, but, to be honest, I don’t think I’ll be wearing this again. Some friends have suggested that I have it reconstructed into a more current dress. Some have told me to donate it.
I honestly don’t know what to do with it, because I still love it the way it is now.
Told you I had trouble letting go.
About the photo
Photography by Veejay Jimenez. Yup, this is one of the photos out of my shoot.
Sarah means “princess”, and the gown is rather princessly, so it only made sense to be a princess in this photo. A rather bored princess who doesn’t want to go to the ball. And refuses to wear heels and wants to wear her Chucks, instead.
but I’ve gone so far now
Victory@25 t-shirt, 150. Jeans, unbranded, Circle C. Chucks. Black and brown wood bracelet. Black and brown beaded necklace.
That shirt right there has got to be one of the best event shirts I’ve ever seen. It looks so…un-promotional-y!
Okay. It’s confession time once again. I’m having a reeeeeeeeally hard time keeping up with this blog. There are days when my mind draws a blank for song lyrics to use as titles, and I’m not a pose guru yet, and, let’s face it: I don’t have 365 outfits. True, I can shoot my accessories individually—and I’ve done that once or twice—but, really, I’m having a hard time right now. And you’ve probably noticed. (Or not.)
But I’m already three months in. I shouldn’t give up now, yes? I just have to get my creative juices flowing more. And look up fashion photography. And listen to more songs. I can do this, yes?

Oh villains fear him
Tetsuwan Atom (Astro Boy) t-shirt from that ukay beside Lolo Oboy’s, P280. Tank top from Baguio ukay, P30. Unbranded jeans from Circle C, P250. Necklace from Punya, P80. Watch from Tomato. Chucks.
And here it is. My Astro Boy shirt with the collar area chopped off to transform it from a little boy’s shirt to a Flashdance-y shirt. Yey!
The print says, “Atom is a super hero”. And then there’s that awesome holographic design.
As I was getting dressed, I tried to convince myself that the weather was nice, and it wasn’t scorching hot… seeing as I was to wear two layers of clothing when most girls are wearing thin sleeveless shirts the past few days. Either I really did convince myself properly, or the weather really was nice. Or maybe this whole combo isn’t hot at all. Oh, man, I wish it was that last one so I can wear this again soon!
So. My first t-shirt cutting project. Success? Yes? No?
Title from the 1980 Astro Boy opening theme. Personally I like the 1960 one better, but that… is beside the point of this post. Haha!
Because, because, because, because
So I bought a new pair of Chucks.
Because I love Chucks.
And because I’ve never had red shoes.
And because I was going to the Red Shoes premier.
Time to see this pair: a split-second.
Time to try it on: 2 minutes.
Time to decide if I should get it: a split second.
This has got to be one of my fastest purchases. Haha!

About the photo
Pixelated, I know. Boo, low lighting. Boooooo! But then again, the low light made the red stand out more. Sorta.
wait till I come back to your side
Dinosaur Shirt from Robinson’s Galleria Department Store. Unbranded jeans from Circle C. Chucks. 10-year-old Uruk-hai bag from Daki.
This is how I dressed during college. Except for the skinnies. I always wore flares then. Oh, and I wore running shoes instead of Chucks then. And— Wait. So this isn’t how I dressed in college. Huh. LOL.
But aaaaaaaaanyway. When I was preparing to go watch the From Paris with Love premier, one of my roommates said that I looked like a college student. Har~

Hehe. The advantages of staying in the mall until closing time include finding awesome places to shoot. Like this one. Yey for this flatish escalator/conveyer-belt-looking thingy!
So I realize that you can’t really see the details of what I’m wearing here. But I loooooove how the shot turned out! You can click on the photo to see the larger version on Flickr. Thanks for helping me, Jori!

Say the word I’m thinking of
Have you heard the word is love
- “The Word”, The Beatles. From the Revolver album, 1965.
Tank top and jersey combo from Circle C, P300. Jag jeans. Chucks. Dog tag from the Febfair in LB manymany years ago. Watch from Tomato.
I’ve been wanting to do this look for a long, long, long time, but I couldn’t find a shirt like that that looked good on me. And I didn’t have a tank top. Until now. And, even better, I got them both as a combo. Wheeee!
Darn. Now I want to cut the neckline of some of my not-used-anymore shirts. Haha!

I love shooting in UP Film Center at noon. The harsh lighting does wonders in this setting, for some reason. Must be the orange brick?
she loves the lovin’ things
White collared blouse, Memo, Trinoma, P995. Gray necktie, Pierre Cardin, SM Baguio, P300. Black slacks from my aunt. Converse All Stars, Shoe Salon, P2800 (I think).
Right now it’s 01.11.01 here in the Philippines, but it’s still 01.10.10 in the States… which means it’s CHUCK SEASON 3 DAY! Yeah, it’s starting in a few minutes. So, to celebrate it, I got me my Nerd Herd duds on! I failed to print my ID on time, though. (Pic below.)
I wanted to wear the whole outfit the whole day, but company rules made me change out of my beloved Chucks. Which is fine, because I think (maybe) I feel more at work when I have my office shoes on.
Title from “Any Way You Want It” by Journey. One of the songs in the very first episode of Chuck. Yeah~
About the photo
I solicited the help of my roommate and officemate Karess for this shot. She took a couple of test shots that actually turned out nice! (If only I was looking at the camera.)
