Pink blouse, DEI. White camisole, Landmark. Jeans, HerBench. Wood bead necklace. Glass necklace, Punya. Blue cuff bracelet, Circle C. Bag, L’Oreal. Sandals, my mom’s closet. (She offered that I use her white sandals instead… I think I should have taken her up on that. Haha!)

Most of the items in this outfit have gone from my closet to my discard pile to my closet to my discard pile and back to my closet again.  While I was doing this year’s spring cleaning, I had decided to put that barely used pink blouse and that never used bag in my discard pile again.

Today I had to wear something cool and possibly airy to the Walkway in Fort Bonifacio, since, y’know, we’d be walking in the sun. I decided to try my hand again in the boyfriend jeans, seeing as my last one wasn’t entirely successful. I tried the white cami, too, which I haven’t worn in YEARS (I haven’t learned how to use plain white tops on my body type). And then my eyes fell on my discard pile and saw this pink blouse.  I threw it on, along with a couple of necklaces. And then I grabbed the sailor-looking bag.

Thank God I haven’t gotten rid of them! But don’t get me wrong: this isn’t to promote NOT discarding the stuff in your discard pile, guys. This post is to promote USING the stuff in your closet. Even old ones. Haha!

Needless to say, none of the items in this outfit will go to my discard pile in a looooooooong time.

Oh I want the truth to be known

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010 | accessories, apparel, blouses, necklaces | No Comments

blue blouse from DEIBlue blouse, DEI. Necklace from my mom’s dresser.

For the record: blue is my favorite color.

I might be wearing many different colors of clothes, but blue is my favorite color.

And just because I don’t think I say it in this blog enough, I’m going to say it again. Blue is my favorite color.

There. Glad we’re on the same page. Moving on.

This blouse was a gift from Hazel of DEI. It’s named Brielle in their catalogs. I think it was made for a skinny person (or at least the model in the catalog was skinny), but I think it fits well for us non-skinny people, too. I like how comfy and flowing and girly the material is! And the print is nice. Not too loud, but not too plain, either.

Thank you so much for this, Hazel! I must go back to DEI again and look at their new stuff. Hehehe.

I took a room, an empty space for the summer

I took a room, an empty space for the summer

A plum-and-gold-and-brown top, Apple & Eve. Jeans, unbranded, Circle C. Brown shoes, Otto.

I was also wearing a wooden bracelet, a brown and black beaded necklace. And I brought a purple and wood bag.

This outfit is similar to the one from when I first posted about this blouse, but, this time, instead of the silver shoes and accessories, I had brown and wood ones on. Which would’ve been perfect with my background, if only you can see them. Haha!

About the photo
Taken at UP College of Human Kinetics. Propped my camera on a tree trunk. I LOVE the dried leaves contrasting with the green leaves on the trees. Yey summer!

honey, I swear, your love is my repair

honey, I swear, your love is my repairGreen empire blouse. Black tank. Necklace from my mom. Two-sided belt. Heartstrings bag. Jag jeans.

I think I’ve said before that most of my references say that I should stay away from smock dresses and empire blouses. I’ve been having trouble with this one in particular. On some days it looked fine, but in other days (particularly the days when I felt bloated) I looked…bloated. I realized just today, after taking a few photos of me in it, that maybe it’s one size too small for me.

You can go, “how can you not realize that?” Well, here’s the thing. I bought it a year or two ago. I thought it looked fine even though its size was Medium (I’m usually a Large). It certainly felt (and still feels) fine. So since I already had it on, and I was already having myself a shoot, I figured I could just do something about it.

Denim belt to the rescue!

I don’t usually do this with my belts, but for this ensemble it felt right. Er…Is it right? Or should I just get rid of the blouse and look for another one with the right size?

she’s touring the facility and picking up slack

she's touring the facility and picking up slackBrown turtleneck from that ukay beside Lolo Oboy’s, P120. Silver necklace with G-clef pendant, Cebu airport. Watch. Slacks.

Huh. I’m discovering that maybe I actually look okay in turtlenecks. Huh. Interesting. It kind of makes me look like a boss-type lady, if I match it with a sort of frown like this one. Haha! It makes me wonder if I’ll look even more bossy if I wore a pencil skirt and killer hills with this. Hmmmmm.

And, by the way, this blouse? It’s in near perfect condition. Pretty good for its price!

About the photo
Look at the cute magnets between me and the SUCCESS note on the wall. Haha!

Taken at 6 PM at the office. Thus the low lighting again. *sigh* I already tried to do color correction and lessen the yellow hue, but this is the best I can do. Any Photoshop tips, anyone?

Find a road to a humble abode where both of our routes meet

Find a road to a humble abode where both of our routes meet

The silver sound is all around and the colors fall like snow
- “Rainbow Veins”, Owl City

Knit blouse, unbranded, P250. Slacks from…someone…I can’t remember who. Watch from Tomato. Naturalizer shoes.

You’ve already seen this blouse…but with jeans. LOL. This time, it’s with slacks! I love tops like this. Put it with jeans and it becomes casual. Match it with leather shoes and it becomes smart casual. Replace the jeans with slacks and you have a more business-y attire. Yey!

About the photo
Taken at 5:30 PM. My hair was a mess, I barely had make-up on, and the sun was setting. I was able to remedy the light problem by putting my exposure on high. But see that bit of yellow light on the wall? That’s proof of the sunset right there.

This photo was SO rushed because I was chasing the daylight…plus this was in the parking lot, so I wanted the shoot to be done before somebody came by.

How am I a stranger to you when we’re friends?

How am I a stranger to you when we're friends?Blouse from Shaw MRT Station, 120.

I have a love-hate relationship with this blouse. Sometimes it looks really nice on me, but sometimes it looks really…unflattering. Take this day, for example. I looked okay on-stage, people said, but, in my photos outside my usual Sunday venue I looked like I squeezed myself into this blouse.

But then I take this shot haphazardly in my room, and…well…I think it looks okay, yes? I guess I’ll just chalk it up to the camera angles or something. Or maybe rushed shots really do work sometimes. :)

About the photo
I usually like the lighting in my room, but in this photo… it looks like my arms went sunbathing without the rest of my body knowing. Bleh. Oh well. I still love this shot :D

I mistook you for a stranger, my lady in a golden outfit

I mistook you for a stranger, my lady in a golden outfit

A plum-and-gold-and-brown top, Apple & Eve. Blue jeans, Jag. A black knit bag. A white gold necklace. Silver earrings. Silver shoes, Manel’s.

I wonder how many followers of the fashion rules are cringing right now. LOL.

On my way out to Tin’s debut in Esplanade. I was not about to get a cab wearing my formal dress. At 3 PM. No way. If it was already in the night, it would’ve be easier: I probably would have just thrown on a coat and I was fine. But no. It was 3 PM. So, no. I packed my dress into my mom’s bag before leaving. Haha!

makes the land appear like a really old movie

makes the land appear like a really old movie

Again, Wednesday. It’s white and gray day at the office, which is a nice day to bring out the neutrals, and/or splash color on them. And since we’re still in the Valentine’s month, I chose to add red to my black and white combo. (Because I’ve never worn red on Valentine’s.)

Everybody loves this coat. I got this from my aunt—same aunt who gave me the Naturalizer shoes in this photo. Every time I wear this coat, more than half the people I see that day greets me and my coat. They either say how nice it is, how nice it looks on me, how nice red looks on me, or how, because of my coat, they just might try to wear bright red, too.

Seeing as how I know practically nothing about fashion,  it’s feels nice to know that somehow my clothes are inspiring other people, too. Hehe. Thanks for the support, guys!

About the photo
Karess and I sneaked in a shoot while waiting for our carpool. We’ve taken several OK shots, but we decided to take a few more, until I ran out of things to do, and the beloved wind was ruining my hair. Scratched my head, and viola! You have this photo. Yep. We love candid shots.

I just wanna stop and thank You

I just wanna stop and thank You

Red smock blouse, Shaw Blvd. MRT Station, P150. Darn. I have to ask the lady there what the name of her store is. There are a lot of clothing stalls in the Shaw Station, but the one I usually go to is at the EDSA Central End, Southbound side.

Valentine’s Day. We were to wear red and/or white, but I chose to wear red for fun. Also wore dark jeans from Circle C—I didn’t realize they were dark green until I saw this photo—and a brown bracelet. And brown leather shoes from Otto.
